Although she did not win, the Skinner campaign impressed many across the state and the nation. Many political observers noted that if only Nancy had the financial resources, she may well have won this race. Well, there's always next time. But first, we need to clear the slate and help retire the debt of the Skinner For Senate Campaign. Will you give $50 to thank Nancy for her courage in taking on the establishment and adding a strong voice when we most need it? We'll send you the Best of Skinner on TV CD - taking on the right wing - for your contribution. Thank you for all your support throughout this campaign and especially now, when it is most urgently needed. Don't give up the fight - I certainly won't!
Federal election law requires political committees to use best efforts to report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year.
An individual may not contribute more than a total of $12,000* to the committee for the primary election and another $2,000 for the general election.
Federal law prohibits contributions to the committee from the general treasury funds of a corporation, labor organization or national bank (including corporate or other business entity credit cards), from any person contributing another's funds, from a Federal government contractor, or from a foreign national who lacks permanent resident status.
Contributions are not deductible for Federal income tax purposes.
*This is not a misprint. The new campaign finance law provides that expenditure of their own money by candidates raises the limit for contributions to the other candidates in that race. Expenditures of his own money by one of the candidates for U.S. Senator from Illinois has raised the limit for all other candidates to $12,000 for the primary election.
